Mental wellbeing & the coronavirus pandemic

Since December 2019 the coronavirus (COVID19) outbreak has had a serious impact on everyone's daily lives globally, and has affected the mental wellbeing of many of us. The mental health care of patients, families and healthcare professionals has also been compromised.

The World Dignity Project - a non-governmental organization - campaigns to ensure good mental health for all. We want to understand the impact of the current COVID19 outbreak on individuals, families and professionals who may be directly or indirectly affected by it, so we can identify what resources may be required in future pandemic outbreaks.

The Global Mental Health Peer Network - a worldwide mental health care user organization working to ensure that the voices of people with lived experience of mental health conditions are heard and their rights respected - has offered to collaborate on this important task.

Infectious diseases with fast transmission such as COVID19 are likely to happen again. Our mutual goal is to identify and campaign for changes, where needed, to ensure that the right help is available to protect the mental health and wellbeing of all.
